Transportation

Transportation arrangements vary from family to family at School of the Holy Child. The school day begins at 8:00 a.m. We recommend that students are dropped off by 7:50 a.m. each day. This enables girls to have time for morning interactions with classmates and teachers and prepare for the school day. Students are dismissed at 3:00 p.m.

Carpooling
Carpools can often be arranged with other Holy Child families in your area. Our students come from 72 communities in Westchester, Fairfield, Putnam, New York, and Bronx counties.
-
School District Bus
Many school districts in New York State provide free transportation. To qualify in districts that provide busing, you must live within fifteen miles of the school, door-to-door. Since each district sets its own guidelines, please get in touch with your local school district transportation office to determine if your district provides busing and if you are eligible.
Transportation has generally been provided by the following areas: Ardsley, Armonk, Bedford, Blind Brook, Briarcliff Manor, Bronxville, Chappaqua, Dobbs Ferry, Eastchester, Elmsford, Harrison, Hastings-On-Hudson, Hawthorne, Irvington, Katonah, Larchmont, Mamaroneck, Mount Kisco, Mount Pleasant, New Rochelle, Ossining, Pleasantville, Port Chester, Rye Neck, Scarsdale, Sleepy Hollow, Tarrytown, Tuckahoe and Valhalla.
-
Metro North Train
Student commutation tickets may be purchased through Metro North. Appropriate forms are available at Holy Child in the front office and at the local train stations and must be verified by Holy Child. The Gryphon Shuttle picks up and drops off students to and from the Rye Metro North Train Station and the White Plains Metro North Train Station.
